Winter Break. This is the last e-news of 2019! Winter break begins tomorrow and ends January 6.  Whether or not you celebrate a holiday, we wish you good health, happy times with family, and warm memories even on cold days.

Are you open enrolled and have a kindergartner coming next year? It is extremely important that you fill out an open enrollment form for that student. These forms are due January 15th. You will have sibling preference, but you MUST fill out a form and submit it before January 15th. Forms are available on line or in the office.

Do you live in our attendance area and have a kindergartner coming next year? It would be helpful if you could turn in a registration form to the office so that we know that your child is planning on attending Meadowbrook in the fall. Kindergarten Royal Registration (formally known as round up) is February 20th at 6:30pm.  Forms are available on line or in the office.

No School.  There is no school December 23rd – January 3rd due to winter break.  School resumes on Monday, January 6th. The building will be locked with security system turned on for both of the Tuesdays and Wednesdays of winter break. Other weekdays the office and Kids and Co will be open.

School resumeson Monday, January 6th and we are looking forward to having your children back and learning in the new year.  This is a good time to remind you of our cold weather rule regarding going outside for recess.  We go outside everyday unless the temperature is below 0 or wind chill is minus 10  degrees.  Please make sure to send your children with appropriate clothes for the cold weather including winter coats, snow pants, hats, mittens, boots and scarves with the plan to play outside.

Snack Cart Opportunity #2.  There are two opportunities to sign up for Snack Cart during the school year; in September and again in December.  Would your children like to start using the Rainbow Snack Cart?  Nutrient rich snacks are available for students to choose every day rather than bringing one from home. Forms are due December 30th and students can start choosing snacks on January 6th with your permission and a check to cover the cost. Forms are available in the office if you wish to sign your child up or call the office and we can send a form home. The cost is $47.50 for the rest of the school year. Please contact the office if your child needs a Snack Cart scholarship.

The 19-20 Parent/Student Handbook is posted on the website.
