Lara Hammer earned her B.A. in Spanish and Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. She studied abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico and in Mérida, Venezuela and focused on South American literature. She has also spent time traveling in Costa Rica. Lara earned her K-12 teaching license from Hamline University in St. Paul. She has been teaching Elementary Spanish since 2010, and has been teaching in Hopkins since 2015. She currently lives in Minneapolis with her husband, daughter, cats, and dogs.
