Mr. French is hosting a sharing and listening session for parents and family members on Monday, February 11, 2019, from 6:30-7:30 in the Gatewood Media Center. He will share information and give updates on:
- the new literacy curriculum and how students are performing;
- progress on our new School-wide Title I work this school year that has interventionists going into classrooms and working with all students;
- supports for family members in supporting their children at home;
- the work on Hopkins District's 2031 Vision and how Gatewood is working to reimagine our computer lab, environmental education, and other hands-on learning.
Please join Mr. French and Mrs. Bloedorn, Gatewood's Literacy Coach, on February 11, 2019, to learn how things are going and share your ideas at just over the halfway point of the school year. Thank you.

Empty Bowls Fundraiser
Hopkins Empty Bowls is a community-wide fundraiser to help fill the empty bowls in our community. Benefiting ICA Food Shelf and ResourceWest, Empty Bowls is a celebration of community, local arts, and local schools.
Every year, Hopkins Public Schools students and community potters create beautiful bowls for this soup meal fundraising event. Our Gatewood grade 4 students will be making bowls and will performing at this event. Look for more information coming soon!

Active Kids Summer Sports Camps – Hopkins Pavilion
Kids ages 6-12 enjoy a full summer of sport instruction, group fitness, recreational play and an ultimate field trip each week! June 10th – August 30th. See flyer in the Electronic Backpack.
Try Lacrosse! Camp
Learn the oldest American sport by having fun and making new friends! This Lacrosse Camp will teach you the basic skills of lacrosse through skill games and competition in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. No checking is allowed in this non-contact camp, kids will be placed in appropriate groups by grade/ability and gender. Each player will be provided with a loaner lacrosse stick and soft lacrosse balls will be used. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and wear gym clothes and sneakers.
