Winter One-Act competition information!

October 30, 2020

Hopkins Royal Productions will be involved in the MSHSL One-Act competition again this year. The performances will be live-streamed as per Covid protocol.

Hopkins will be performing the one-act, Us and Them, by David Campton.

The Premise: (there will be 16 roles available to actors)

Two groups of wanders enter looking for a place to settle. They agree to share and mark the line between their territories, then build a small wall. The wall is built higher and then still higher. Suspicion and mistrust grow to the point where the group must inevitably explode in conflict.

Auditions: (open to current 9-12 grader Hopkins students)

November 19th-3pm-5pm in HHS auditorium (Callback only if necessary- TBD)

You may enter from the front of the school if you arrive BEFORE 3pm. Then you must enter through the Lindbergh Center.

All actors should prepare a 1 minute monologue. Monologues should be on the serious side with bits of humor or lightness-MEMORIZED with appropriate movement (staging). All actors will be asked to social distance and wear masks while in HHS. Actors must leave space when finished with audition.

Rehearsals will be held Mondays 3-5pm and Thursdays 5:30-7:30pm

Rehearsals will begin December 3rd and all actors will attend every rehearsal. Final live-streamed performance will be either January 27 or 28, 2021.
