The Superintendent of Schools is hired by the School Board to lead and manage the school district. They also serve as an ex officio, non-voting member of the School Board, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the school district. Duties and responsibilities are derived largely from three sources:  1) State statute; 2) their employment contract; and 3) the job description.

The Superintendent — directly accountable to the School Board — is responsible for the management of the schools, and the administration of district policies. Additionally, the Superintendent must annually evaluate each principal assigned responsibility for supervising a school in the district. While the Superintendent may delegate responsibilities to other school district personnel, they are accountable for actions taken under such delegation. Essential duties include policy and governance, planning and assessment, organizational management, communications and community relations, and instructional leadership.

Administrative Cabinet

The leadership team of our school district is known as the Cabinet. The Cabinet meets weekly to review reports to the School Board and community.
